Dr. Berger will discuss UNESCO’s exploration of the concept of “Internet Universality” and the contention that international standards of online freedom of speech are one of the normative prerequisites for the universality of the Internet. Dr. Berger headed the School of Journalism & Media Studies at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa from 1994-2010.
